Franklinville, NY
From Our Mayor

On behalf of the Governing Body and the residents of the Village, I would like to welcome you to the Village of Franklinville.

From the beginnings in 1806, when the population consisted of farmers, local factory workers and entrepreneurs Franklinville was the place to be; boasting 2 theaters, several restaurants and local shops.  Franklinville has always been home to many diverse residents and we look forward to continuing that tradition.  I believe you will find the residents to be friendly, welcoming, and helpful.

Franklinville has a multitude of cultural and recreational opportunities.  Mid-spring is welcomed in the Village with the Maple Festival, which is held at the school, many people from far and wide com to welcome the sweet smell of maple syrup wafting through the air.  During the summer months, Park Square is the location for Church in the Park (August), the Farmer’s Market (June-Oct), and a restful stop for walkers and bike riders providing much desired comfort and shade.  Our parks are the envy of many similarly sized communities, we have the newly created Pat McGee Park located at the North end of the Village which features a playground, a top play area and pavilion for the publics use.  We also have “pocket parks” throughout the Village that feature benches for a mid-day rest.

Franklinville has a Mayor-Trustee form of government.  Four trustees are elected for staggered four-year terms.  The Board’s function is primarily legislative, while a full-time Mayor serves as the Village’s Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for administrative functions.  You can find “welcome brochures” at the Village office that will give you information regarding businesses, churches and local government contacts.  Stop in a pick one up and we look forward to meeting you.

Once again, I welcome you to the Village of Franklinville.  Please view the different departments for information on our “Community of Choice”.
